Gary
Hermansen, President & Chief Executive Officer
Gary has over 20 years of business and entrepreneurial
experience including engineering, sales/marketing and executive
management experience. Gary's experience spans the markets
telecommunications, Internet and semiconductor industries.
Most recently Gary served for 5+ years as the CEO and President
of Global IP Solutions, the leader in the embedded VoIP technology.
Global IP Solutions is a publicly traded company on a European
exchange. Gary was also the CEO of Brightmail, an innovator
in the SaaS email services market that was acquired by Symantec.
Prior to that Gary served as President and GM of Glenayre
Consumer Products and held senior positions at Wireless Access,
Cypress Semiconductor and Intel. Gary holds an B.S.
in Electrical Engineering.
Karen Alonardo, Founder & EVP
of Business Development, MSEM
With 17 years in a number of key leadership
and entrepreneurial positions at Fortune 500 and private start-up
companies, Karen has a successful track record of running
large global Information Technology and Data Center Operations
efforts at Electronic Arts and Critical Path. As Vice President,
she ran worldwide Operations and Information Technology and
was directly involved with product development and strategy.
Over the past few years, her focus has been sustainability
management and IT product innovation, methods and policy implications
regarding carbon and energy for corporations.
To integrate environmental, technology
and business knowledge into a clean technology business, Karen
received her Master’s in Science in Environmental Management
(MSEM) from the University of San Francisco with a B.S. degree
in Business Administration from Northeastern University.
Kari Birdseye, Vice President Sustainability,
MSEM
Kari Birdseye is an environmental and
sustainability professional with twenty years of management
experience and has spent more than a decade devoted to corporate
environmental management. She has created and managed
communications strategies on sustainability, government relations,
and biotechnology issues. She served as a high-profile
spokesperson for the California wine industry while developing
and implementing the California Code of Sustainable Wine Growing
Practices program. During her eleven years at Cable News
Network as Executive Producer, she earned an Emmy while supervising
editorial content and the production of the highly-rated Weekend
Morning Magazine Show. Kari has a Master’s of Science in
Environmental Management (MSEM) from University of San Francisco
and a BA degree in Journalism from San Francisco State University.
Yann
Lejas, Vice President Technical Sales and Services
Yann brings extensive experience in software
technical sales, customer engineering and support. Most recently
Yann served as Sr. Director Sales Engineering for Global IP
Solutions, where he was responsible for worldwide technical
sales and managed the customer engineering team. Prior to
that, Yann participated in the launch of the company’s operations
in Asia, where he held the position of Director Customer Engineering,
Asia Pacific. Before joining Global IP Solutions, Yann was
a software engineer at Scientific Learning.
Yann holds a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from
the Illinois Institute of Technology and a Master’s degree
in Electronics and Telecommunications from ENSEA in France.
Leslie Caplan, Sustainability Management
Leslie
has over 15 years experience working with corporations and
governmental entities to design environmental strategies that
further traditional business as well as sustainability goals.
Her projects include ATT Park, the UCSF-Mission Bay Campus,
California’s first global warming regulation of tailpipe emissions
(AB 1493), and the green rehabilitation of a 50,000 square
foot turn of the century San Francisco building. She is also
a seasoned entrepreneur who was awarded a patent for the innovative
computer hardware technology she developed in the late 1990s.
Leslie holds degrees from the
University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School and the University
of California’s Hastings College of Law. She is pursuing an
MBA in Sustainable Management at Presidio School of Management
and is a LEED accredited professional.
Ralf Schundelmeier,
Technical Advisor
Ralf brings more than 15 years of experience
in Software Development, Information Technology and Management
Consulting with a focus on product management, web application
services and enterprise software application development,
international SAP implementations and supply chain. Over 8
years in Senior Management roles, most recently serving as
CTO and EVP Engineering for a Internet software start up (service
supply chain), providing enterprise software as a service
(SaaS). Recognized as a strategic thinker, technology visionary
and a performance-oriented leader. Demonstrated ability to
recognize business opportunities, design the optimum solutions
and deliver results. Ralf holds
a Bachelor Business Administration and Engineering from the
University of Applied Sciences.
